Children’s ward inaugurated

GILGIT, Jan 22: Force Commander Northern Areas (FCNA) Maj-Gen Nadeem Ahmed on Tuesday inaugurated the children’s complex at the Gilgit District Headquarters Hospital.

Northern Areas Health Secretary Prof Khawaja Meherdad and the DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Lt-Col Akramullah Qureshi briefed the FCNA about projects undertaken by the health department and said that the complex comprised a modern laboratory, a children’s outdoor patient department and a 62-bed children’s ward, built at a cost of Rs12.5 million.

Nadeem Ahmed said that the service structure for doctors would soon be implemented following a dialogue with the federal health ministry.
