ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: An accountability court is likely to announce its verdict in a corruption reference against former Privatization Commission chairman Navid Qamar on January 30.
Meanwhile, the judge, Rustam Ali Malik, of the Accountability Court No.1, on Tuesday completed hearing the arguments from both the sides.
Navid Qamar is facing the corruption reference for his alleged involvement in the commission of corruption while serving as the Privatization Commission chairman during the Benazir Bhutto government.
The prosecution has accused that the privatization of Ittehad Chemicals Limited, which was authorized by the accused, caused huge loss to the public exchequer.
Eminent lawyer Barrister Aitezaz Ahsan is representing Navid Qamar while Khawaja Haris is representing the co-accused Musa Khatri and Usman Khatri.
Ibrahim Satti and Babar Ali appeared on behalf of the prosecution.
