TRAFFIC violations on Karachi roads have been a problem for long, especially by motorcyclists who are often seen carrying four, even five passengers along with bags and other stuff on main roads and streets. The practice causes fatal accidents, resulting in loss of lives and injuries.

Almost every motorcycle in Karachi moves without indicators and tail-light, but the riders are hardly ever checked by the traffic police. Most motorcyclists violate traffic lights, ride in the wrong direction on one-way tracks and even in fast lanes, zigzagging and without caring for the movement of vehicles behind or beside them. They overtake larger vehicles from either side, and have truck horns fixed on their motorcycles.

One wonders if the police higher-ups even know what it is like on the roads of Karachi. If they do, one wonders what arrangements they have made to control such lawlessness and traffic violations.
