ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: A three-member high level US delegation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) chief, arrived here Tuesday night, official source said.

The delegation, comprising FBI chief Robert S. Meller-III, deputy assistant-director James Caruso and legal attache Christopher is scheduled to hold talks with President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider, the director-general, Federal Bureau of Investigation, the commandant, police academy and other heads of the top security agencies during their two-day stay, the source said.

The US delegation will discuss the issues related to the ongoing war on terrorism and co-ordination between the FBI and FIA, the source said.

The Pakistan authorities will appraise the US team about the measures taken by the government against terrorism, besides, the ban on militant Jihadi groups and sectarian parties and the arrests of their activists, the source said.

Since the announcement of the ban on religious parties, 2003 activists of outlawed groups have been arrested and 623 offices have been sealed.

The source disclosed that 156 activists of Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, 70 of TJP, 180 of Jaish-i-Mohammad, 185 of Lashkar-i-Taiba, 7 of Harkatul Mujahideen and 13 of TNSM have been arrested so far. The US officials willleave Pakistan on Thursday, it added.
