MANSEHRA: The district administration sealed many beauty salons, tailor shops and non-essential business outlets here on Monday for being open despite lockdown.

Deputy commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan had ordered a crackdown on violation of business closure orders in Mansehra, Balakot and Oghi tehsils.

A team of the administration and police led by assistant commissioner Sundus Arshad Malik visited Ghazikot and city areas and sealed over a dozen beauty parlours for being open.

The assistant commissioners and additional Assistant commissioners of Mansehra, Balakot, Oghi and Baffa-Pakhal tehsils also sealed many shops of non-essential items.

Assistant commissioner Hasrat Khan and assistant food controller Shaukat Sultan paid surprise visits to markets and sealed many shops over lockdown violation.

They also fined many other shopkeepers for overcharging customers.

Assistant commissioner Jawad Sardar Marwat sealed some tailor shops in Kashmiri Bazaar.

Meanwhile, assistant commissioner of Oghi Usman Ali raided a baker’s godown on the people’s complaints and seized around 60 bags of subsidised sugar.

He fined the godown owner Rs100,000.

KILLED: Rivals gunned down a man here on Monday.

Mohammad Fayyaz was attacked as he was on the way to home in Gandar Bandar area.

The police said the deceased belonged to Jaglot area of Upper Kohistan district and had shifted to Mansehra over threats to his life.

They said they began search for the gunmen after registering an FIR.

Meanwhile, a shepherd suffered serious burns and his three dozen goats perished in Rail area of Torghar district after being struck by lightning.

The locals shifted the injured, Abdul Rasheed, to a nearby hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.
