PESHAWAR, Oct 20: The chairperson of All Pakistan Youth Federation, Kashmir zone, Gulzar Fatima, has stressed the need for extending relief work to remote parts of the Azad Kashmir valley.

Ms Fatima, who is also a member of the AJK Legislative Assembly, told a press conference that thousands of students were still missing in the area.

She said the quake had killed almost one generation of Kashmiris and it would take people decades to come out of the trauma.

In reply to a question, Ms Fatima said that the AJK government would need millions of rupees to reconstruct the government buildings as well as houses for more than 80 per cent population of the valley.

She called for a census in the area to ascertain the actual number of deaths in the Oct 8 quake.

The provincial chairman of the federation, Syed Sardar Badshah, on the occasion enumerated relief activities carried out by their organization.
