BADIN, Oct 20: A delegation of the Asian Development Bank on Thursday visited Badin to review the systems of water supply and sewerage. The delegation headed by Roger Jackson comprised Dr Peterling Wood, Meshero Doya, Ms Chand Bibi, Ms Tasneem Bhatti and others.
They held a meeting with Badin TMO Haji Ahmed Abro who briefed them on these issues.
The TMO told the delegation that provision of clean water was not possible in the area due to unavailability of a filter plant.
He said the town had capacity to store water only for seven days while water-providing canals were also closed after 15 to 20 days.
The TMO told the delegation of hindrances in cleaning the chocked drainage lines, specially in low-laying areas of town.
It may be mentioned that the ADB is working on different projects to solve the civic problems in talukas of Badin, Dadu, Sanghar, Umerkot and Thatta.—PPI
