SIALKOT, Jan 22: Six gunmen killed a Daska transporter, his two brothers and a servant over an old enmity, at their dera on the Sambrial Road, a congested area of Daska city, late on Monday night.
Riding in a car, the gunmen sprayed bullets on transporter Shehzad Husain Gujjar, his brothers Dilshad and Sajjad, killing them on the spot. They also killed Shehzad’s servant Fida, the only eyewitness to the brutal incident.
The killers fled away by firing in the air.
Daska city police have registered a case against Sultan, Nawaz, Ijaz, Qasim, Malik Irshad and Malik Riaz. They claimed to have arrested Sultan, Ijaz and Irshad.
Expressing grave concern over the incident, transporters demanded immediate arrest of the remaining killers.
Meanwhile, all the shops on the Sambrial Road, Daska, remained closed on Tuesday as a protest against the murder of a local transporter, his two brothers and servant.
Deceased Shahzad Gujjar and his brothers Sajjad and Dilshad were laid to rest in their native graveyard in Shaheedan, Daska. Their servant Fida was buried in Gujranwala.
The Punjab IGP, Malik Asif Hayat, has sought a detailed report from the Daska DSP within next 24 hours.
The shopkeepers announced that they would keep shutters down for three days.
INDIAN FIRING: Two Pakistanis, including a woman, sustained serious injuries by Indian firing on villages near Sialkot working boundary here on Tuesday afternoon.
Official sources said Aslam Khan, 40, in Khucchi Maand village of Bajwat sector and Shagufta, 30, the wife of Muhammad Ashraf, were sitting in the courtyards of their houses when bullets fired by the Indian forces hit them. They have been admitted to the Sialkot CMH in critical condition.
Meanwhile, official sources confirmed that one Indian soldier was killed and four others seriously injured when the Chenab Rangers retaliated in Chhapri in Bajwat sector.
