ISLAMABAD: To address the issue of inflation, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat on Sunday visited Sasta bazaars in the federal capital.
During a visit to the Sasta bazaar in G-7, the minister checked prices of fruits and vegetables and directed the officials concerned to ensure availability of daily-use items at affordable rates to the consumers.
Meanwhile, district administration officials visited G-9 Markaz (Karachi Company) to implement the lockdown and review Covid-19 SOPs. Four shops were sealed and two persons were arrested.
The secretary transport authority inspected public transport vehicles at I.J.P Road and 26 No Chungi in order to ensure that Covid-19 SOPs, overcharging, overloading, route completion and route permits were being enforced.
In this regard, 28 vehicles were challaned and three people were arrested over violations.
Fines of Rs57,000 were imposed.
During the inspection, a public transport company was found violating the lockdown as its ticket booths were operational and tickets for Sunday were being sold.
One the other hand, Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Islamabad Police Afzaal Ahmed Kousar visited different areas of the capital city to inspect the law and order situation and met with on duty officials.
