I AM 67 years old and draw my monthly pension from the Ghotki branch of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). My pension for the month of March was withheld due to failure of the biometric process.

In the light of the notification by the Finance Division (Budget wing), Islamabad, dated Jan 28, 2021, and State Bank of Pakistan’s policy, my submission of life certificate for its release was not entertained by the bank official concerned who attributed the withholding of pension to the failure of the biometric process.

All other branches of NBP pay pension even to those having similar biometric issues after obtaining from them the so-called life certificates in accordance with the SBP policy. Will the authorities concerned address my issue at the earliest?
