BAHAWALPUR: With a surge in the Covid-19 cases across the country, the dates for the commencement of matriculation and intermediate examinations 2021 have now been extended to May 25 and July 3, respectively.

Earlier, both examinations were to be held in May and June, respectively in all the nine boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISEs) of the province.

Bahawalpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Dr Mazhar Saeed told Dawn that with the consultation and approval of the Punjab education secretary, it had been decided that the BISEs would now hold examinations after Eidul Fitr on these amended dates (May 25 and July 3).

He said that during the examinations all SOPs would be strictly followed in the examinations halls. He said the supervisory staff of each examination hallwould also take every step to ensure the protection of the candidates.
