LAHORE: A woman allegedly killed her two minor sons and injured a daughter at Shahdara on Saturday.

Police said Talha (8) and Bilal (10) were strangled by their mother Najma (40) in their house in Gulshan-i-Hayat Park near the Shahdara Police Station.

The woman first strangled her sons and was trying to kill her five-year-old daughter Maryam when her brother-in-law reached there and rescued the girl. The neighbours also intervened and nabbed the woman who tried to end her life with a knife.

The minor girl also suffered knife injuries and was shifted to nearby hospital. The woman was handed over to police.

Police shifted the bodies of minor boys to the morgue for autopsy.

The investigating officer said the woman was carrying a blade and was trying to kill her daughter. She pretended to be under the influence of some ‘evil forces’. The IO said the woman was also injured and being treated at a hospital. He added police would further investigate the suspect after she would be stable.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Inam Ghani took notice of the incident and sought a report from the CCPO Lahore.
