LOWER DIR: As many as 14 people, including nine women, were injured in two separate road accidents here on Friday, residents and police said.
They said that a van carrying members of the same family from Luqman Banda to Khall skidded off the road in the jurisdiction of Khall police station. As a result, nine women and three men were injured.
The Rescue 1122 team shifted the injured to the district headquarters hospital, Timergara.
According to Khall police, the incident occurred due to speeding. Nine of the injured were discharged after first aid while three of them were admitted to the hospital.
Also in the day, two persons identified as Sajjad, 22, and Fawad, 20, of Toormang area were injured when their motorcycle collided with a vehicle at Balambat. The Rescue 1122 team shifted them to the DHQ hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122, Lower Dir, on Friday celebrated its first anniversary at its office, said its district head Izhar Alam. He told mediapersons that the Rescue 1122 had started its services on April 9, 2020.
Presenting the annual report, he said that during the last one year a total of 1,663 operations were conducted during which hundreds of victims of road accidents, floods, fire incidents and other emergencies were recovered and rescued.
