THE traffic on the road in front of my house at street one, lane two, New Lalazar, Rawalpindi, is unbearable. There is extensive noise pollution and heat generated from vehicles moving to and fro from the G.T. Road through this shortcut to Adiala Road.

This is a narrow lane and not meant for double-lane traffic. Fifteen years ago, this road was closed off by a gate of Fauji Foundation University for a night and we could get some sleep. Not anymore. The forced Covid lockdown is the best time to close the traffic again and place blocks or a build a gate like before.

I have reported this problem repeatedly to the Citizen Portal, and the station headquarters in Rawalpindi. Now the only option left is to use this platform, hoping that the issue would get the attention of those concerned.

If the authorities concerned are listening, please close this lane for traffic.
