THERE were times when Pakistani television industry used to produce and present quality content. People still remember those productions with great fondness and nostalgia. With the passage of time, Pakistani drama has lost its plot. The themes of today’s dramas mostly revolve around awkward elements, and their production is pathetic.
Our dramas only present and promote the concept of divorce, second marriage, extra-marital affairs, revenge, sibling rivalry, jealousy, idiotic boyfriends, and domestic fighting. What nonsense! These concepts are just rubbish.
Why cannot television writers find situations and stories that may represent something more substantial?
Media plays a very important role in the progress of any nation. If Pakistan wants to make progress, its media should represent the positive and healthy side of the country. There is certainly more to life than divorces, I am sure.
