THIS is with reference to the report ‘At least 1 dead, 30 injured after Lahore-bound train derails near Rohri’ (March 7). We have been hearing that ML-1 will resolve all issues related to rail tracks, but it will take years. We need action now and it seems that the current minister and management cannot resolve critical issues.

Pakistan Railways needs someone who can convert losses into profits and use that money to improve safety.

THIS is with reference to the recent derailment of Karachi Express (March 7). The blame for this accident has been put on the track’s poor condition. I am shocked to know this. If the tracks are in poor condition and the department concerned had prior knowledge of the matter, why were the trains being allowed to run on these tracks?
