THIS is apropos the report ‘Imran asks nation to help reverse smog’ (Feb 13). While smog, indeed, is a critical issue, the government would do well to recognise that there are more critical issues that need its attention, and need it rather urgently.

The government is yet to deliver on its promise of providing relief to everyone without any bias. I wish someone could tell those concerned that people are in extremely bad shape and some of them are on the verge of mental and physical breakdown. The performance of various state institutions has been questionable and I highly doubt that it will improve anytime soon.
