DERA GHAZI KHAN: Police have registered a case against 80 people who attacked agricultural graduates to get back the possession of land by force.

The Punjab government had allotted agriculture land in 2010 to agriculture graduates of Punjab and 34 of them recently got possession with the help of revenue and police departments. On Saturday night, they were forced to leave the land when Shamsul Islam attacked the camps of agri graduates with clubs and also damaged vehicles. Asif and four others suffered injuries in the assault after which the illegal occupants managed to wrest back the land.

The Raitra police registered a case against 82 suspects including 36 nominated people.

Asif told Dawn that police had failed to provide protection to them. He appealed to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take notice of the attack on agri graduates and illegal occupation of land by the influential people led by Shamsul Islam, an employee of education department of Balochistan, and his accomplices.

As many as 10 cases have already been registered against 36 nominated accused.
