LAKKI MARWAT: Unknown assailants shot dead a policeman on Begukhel Road near the Lakki city here on Friday.

The police said constable Falak Naz posted at a temporarily established checkpost on the road linking the city with rural localities was shot dead by attackers riding motorcycles. The body was shifted to the government city hospital for autopsy.

The police launched a search operation in the surrounding areas, but no arrests were reported.

Separately, unknown armed men killed two people in separate incidents in Bannu.

Police said Mohammad Qayumullah, 46, died when he came under attack in Bazeed Michenkhel locality.

The killers escaped, and the body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

A case has been registered against the killers in Ghoriwala police station.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead Sajjad Khan, 25, in Wazeeri Kallay. The body was handed over to relatives after postmortem at the DHQ hospital.

A case was registered against the killers on the complaint of Shahmad Khan, father of the deceased in Myrian police station.
