THERE is no denying the fact that the option of having an open ballot for the forthcoming elections to the upper house of parliament is a commendable process. I wonder why the ruling party did not amend the relevant clauses earlier. It should have changed the process, from secret to open, when it came to power in 2018, not now when the senate elections are just around the corner.
