KARACHI: Lawyers observed strike at the City Courts on Friday in support of protest by their colleagues in Islamabad over demolition of their chambers by the capital administration.

The judicial work remained suspended as the lawyers did not turn up to plead their cases fixed for the day in response to a call for protest by the Karachi Bar Association.

KBA general secretary Amir Nawaz Warraich asked the government to withdraw the cases lodged against the lawyers in Islamabad and release those who had been arrested for lodging their protest.

He also asked the capital administration to rebuild the demolished chambers of the lawyers.
