BAJAUR: Two girls were killed and two others injured when roof of a house collapsed in Badan area of Mamond tehsil here on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials said the incident occurred in Shah Kallay area. They said two girls aged between 15 to 18 years died while being shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

People of the neighbourhood and Rescue 1122 personnel retrieved the victims from the rubble.

Deputy commissioner Mohammad Fayyaz Khan visited the hospital and enquired after the victims. He directed the hospital management to provide quality treatment to the wounded children.

Meanwhile, unidentified assailants shot dead a youth outside of his house in Tarkhoo area of Mamond tehsil on Tuesday evening.

The residents said 24-year-old Salahuddin was returning home after playing a volleyball match in Barkholzo area when unknown assailants opened fire on him. They said he died while being shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

The police have registered a case.
