DERA MURAD JAMALI: Three people were killed and 18 others, including women, injured in a road accident at the Quetta-Sibi highway in Bolan district on Thursday.

Levies Force officials said that a wagon carrying passengers was going from Quetta to Mach town. When it reached near Pir Panja it collided with a coach coming from the opposite direction.

Three people, including the driver of the wagon, suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Soon after receiving information about the accident, security personnel rushed to the area and shifted the injured to a hospital in Mach.

The condition of four of the injured was said to be serious. They were shifted to the Trauma Centre of Quetta’s Civil Hospital.

Meanwhile, a man gunned down his wife in the name of honour in Goth Mohammad Amin Jhakrani area of Jaffarabad district.

Police said that the accused, identified as Abdul Hakeem, opened fire on his wife Malkan Bibi and her alleged paramour Ali Dost. The woman received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot and the alleged paramour was seriously injured.

The accused fled the area after committing the crime.

The police shifted the body and the injured to district hospital in Dera Allahyar.

Hospital officials handed over the body of the woman to her heirs after completing medico-legal formalities.
