KARAK: The office-bearers of the ruling PTI belonging to Jandri and Sabirabad union councils have asked MNA Shahid Khattak to explain shifting of production bonus and corporate social responsibility funds of oil and gas exploration to his native tehsil.

They PTI workers threatened during a meeting to move a court of law against their party’s MNA if he failed to explain shifting of funds. The meeting was held here on Monday with Hayat Khattak in the chair.

The participants of the meeting said that oil and gas reserves were discovered in Jandri and Sabirabad but the residents of both the union councils were deprived of their constitutional right on production bonus and CSR funds by the MNA.

They said that the funds were meant for the welfare of the people, who were directly affected by the oil and gas exploration activities. They said that they were suffering from allergies, respiratory infections and other of diseases due to oil and gas exploration activities but the MNA shifted the funds to his native Takht-i-Nusrati tehsil.

The PTI workers said that they would not compromise on their rights and would go to any extent to get their rights.

SENTENCED: The court of additional district and sessions judge Karak awarded life sentence to three close relatives in a triple murder case.

A press release issued here on Monday said that in 2019 three relatives killed a man, his wife and daughter in Shagi Lawagher area over some women issue. It said that police arrested all the three relatives identified as Wali Hassan, Aamir Hassan and Naveed Hassan soon after the incident.

The court of additional district and sessions judge awarded life sentence to the three accused and also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on everyone of them.

The press release said that in another murder case, the court of additional district judge Banda Daud Shah awarded life sentence to Tariq Mehmood and imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on him.
