LAHORE: A man killed his brother-in-law and injured two others after his wife refused to reconcile with him in Mustafabad on Sunday.

Police said the suspect, Tayyab, had developed some dispute with his wife who left him and started living with her parents.

Tayyab went to his in-laws’ to bring his estranged wife back but she refused to reconcile with him. He exchanged harsh words with his in-laws over the issue. He pulled out his gun and opened fire at his brothers-in-law, Hassan, 27, Haseeb and Hasnain, and injured them.

The suspect tried to flee but the locals nabbed him and handed him over to police.

The injured were shifted to hospital where Hassan succumbed to his injuries while both of his brothers were stated to be in stable condition.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a murder case against Tayyab.

ROBBERY: Two persons, including a robber, were injured in a botched robbery attempt in Nishter Colony.

Mohabat Ali was travelling on a road when two armed robbers stopped him and tried to snatch cash and valuables from him.

Police said Ali resisted the robbery attempt and a robber opened fire at him. As a result of the firing, Ali and one of the robbers, identified as Azhar, suffered bullet wounds. Azhar’s accomplices fled the scene.

Police reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospital where both of them were said to be out of danger.

Model Town SP Dost Muhammad told the media the arrested suspect was a proclaimed offender who was involved in several cases of robbery and murder.
