LAHORE, Jan 20: Nine more matches were decided in the Punjab (Under-16) Inter-district hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium Sunday.
Gujrat defeated Bahawalnagar 1-0 with right-half Kaleem Abbas scoring the decider in the 53rd minute.
Three goals each by centre-forward Inayatullah (9th, 14th and 45th) and inside-left Zeeshan Imam (19th, 52nd and 55th) enabled Toba Tek Singh thrash Layyah 7-0. The winners led the first half 3-0.
Outside-right Naeem Abbas banged home in the 45th minute to complete the tally.
Kasur crushed Lodhran 6-0 after taking 2-0 lead in the first half. Inside-right Imran Mirza (7th, 45th minute), inside-left Imran Mirza (16th, 58th minute) and outside-right Asif Raza (48th, 55th minute) scored two goal each.
Two goals by outside-left Shafqat Ali helped Vehari beat Sialkot by tennis score (6-1). Shafqat Ali scored in 32nd and 44th minutes while Striker Abuzar (38th minute), outside-right Mohammad Ramzan (40th minute), centre-forward Shahid Ali (52nd minute) and and Irfan (56th minute) were the scorers.
Sialkot’s consolation goal was scored by inside-right Farhan in the 54th minute.
Muzaffargarh and Mandi Bahauddin played a one-all draw. Abbas Ashraf scored for Muzaffargarh in the 36th which was levelled five minutes later by outside-left.
Chakwal and Hafizabad also played an one-all game. Mustansir Bashir scored for Chakwal in the 15th minute while Skipper Mohammad Afzal equalized for Hafizabad in the dying minute of the first half.
Faisalabad outplayed Sahiwal 2-0 with goals from inside-left Arif Yasir (35) and outside-left Mohammad Naeem (40).
Three goals by inside-left Zubair (7, 10, 34) enabled Okara to maul Bhakhar 6-1. The winners led the first half comfortably 4-1. Other scorers with outside-right Ibrar Husain (22), centre-forward Tahir Mahmood (2) and inside-right Ghulam Abbas (7).
For Bhakkar, the lone goal was scored by Mohammad Shabaz in the 15th minute.
Rahim Yar Khan outclassed Multan 4-0 with goals from centre-forward Navid Anjum (10), inside-left Javed (31), Abdul Waheed (53) and outside-left Rizwan (56).
