PESHAWAR, Oct 5: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain will be remembered for his positive role in Fata, said tribal elders at a jirga held on Wednesday in South Waziristan Agency.

They said that the people of Fata would always remember him for launching uplift projects and maintaining peace in the area.

Malik Saifullah, Malik Mohammad Azam and other tribal elders, while addressing the jirga said that the previous governments paid little attention toward the progress of tribal region.

They said that President Gen Pervez Musharraf had taken concrete steps for the development of Fata and added that the corps commander has won the hearts of the tribesmen for his sincere efforts for brining peace to the tribal areas.—APP
