Updated 03 Dec, 2020

Former finance minister and PML-N leader Muhammad Ishaq Dar's appearance on Stephen Sackur's HardTalk on BBC did not go well, to say the least.

Pakistanis had a good laugh as the host questioned Dar, who appeared to have a hard time with his answers while attempting to recall his properties around the world (or lack thereof apparently).

While the politician maintained that all his tax records were reported, the host asked him repeatedly how many properties he and his family own. “It’s all declared in my tax returns. Everything is accounted for.”

"I haven’t got too many properties,” he added, as the host questioned a Dubai villa under his son's ownership and the fact that Dar hadn't returned to Pakistan, on excuse of his health, for 3 years.

Naturally, the trolls were ready with their memes.

Some thought the damage had been done

While others were quick to act it out

Hard Talk, not Capital Talk

The five stages of grief

Or the taste of karma?

A stain on political history, says Shaan Shahid

Blame 2020

Oops

Where is the lie?

We stan!

Someone should know what is hard talk about, the current anchor is a cream comparing to Tim Sebastian. Further, before commenting on the questions, one should know the difference between the British humor and sarcasm. Most importantly, the conduct of the program is always to be critical, sarcastic, hard and counter questions and raise concerns with lots of whys? Understanding the concept, I would say that ID was not ready with his response skills and response word vocabulary. Despite the said limitation, the subject matter was well handled by ID, the validation of which is that the anchor will say right and move on to next critical question instead of counter questioning the same subject. So the closing statement, the hard talk is a grilling program, Quiet pleased that ID have accepted the challenge and performed reasonably well. On subject matter ID had full grasp and full informed. The comments are not biased

Isaq Dar's recent BBC interview was full of lies and exposed both him and his mastermind NS as compulsive liars. This was a classical example of hypocracres and corrupt politicians. He also damaged PDM's unjust cause and strengthened PTI government. (Note: I have been advocating my impartial views for over 4 years against injustice, inequality, corruption, oppression and nepotism without supporting any of the political parties. My family, country and people's well-being are far more important to me than anything else. Please be aware of fake ID!).
