Challengers score tense win

RAWALPINDI: PCB Challengers defeated PCB Dynamites in the lasst league-round fixture of the National Triangular T20 Women’s Cricket Championship at the Pindi Cricket Stadium here on Sunday.

The match, which was a rehearsal of sorts before Tuesday’s final between these sides, became exciting for a while when the Dynamites their opponents to 51-5 before an unbroken 59-run partnership between Bismah Maroof (45) and player-of-the-match Fatima Sana (30) carried the Challengers over the line.

Earlier, the Dynamites mustered 108-9 with opener Nahida Khan making 26.

PCB DYNAMITES 108-9 in 20 overs (Nahida Khan 26; Saba Nazir 2-22, Aimen Anwar 2-24, Fatima Sana 2-24); PCB CHALLENGERS 110-5 in 19.2 overs (Bismah Maroof 45 not out, Fatima Sana 30 not out; Kainat Imtiaz 2-16).
