DERA ISMAIL KHAN/MANSEHRA: Two people were killed and 26 injured in two road accidents in Dera Ismail Khan and Mansehra districts on Sunday, the police said.

Officials said a speeding jeep hit a motorcycle on the Dera-Tank Road in Pota area, critically injuring two persons riding the bike.

The injured, Raees of Gara Baloch Tank, and an unidentified person died while being shifted to Civil Hospital Dera.

On the report of Maqbool Hussain, a cousin of deceased Raees, the Saddar police registered a case against the jeep driver.

Meanwhile, a speeding van overturned after hitting the roadside wall, leaving all the 26 people on board injured in Galli Badral area of Mansehra.

The locals shifted the injured to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, wherefrom five in critical condition were referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad.

The injured passengers told reporters that because of overloading such incidents were common in hilly parts of the district.

They said around 10 passengers were travelling on the rooftop of the wagon.

Meanwhile, the CNG stations in Mansehra suspended gas supply to motorists on Sunday after the SNGPL stopped the supply.

Last week, the district administration had notified a six-hour loadshedding daily, but the SNGPL suspended supply to CNG stations from Saturday evening, as a result, the filling stations remained closed the entire day on Sunday.
