LAHORE: Damil Ataullah in boys under-18 category and Suneya Osama in the U-21 girls category stood up prominently as the three-day trials to select a three-member boys team and a two-member girls team for participation in the Nick Faldo Golf Championship — to be held in Vietnam in March 2021 — continued at the PAF Skyview Golf Course here on Friday.

Both Ataullah and Suneya belong to Lahore Garrison Golf Club. Suneya came up with the best round of the day with gross 73. “I look forward to more consistency over the next two rounds “ she said.

In the race for selection in under-16 category, Omar Khalid of Karachi Golf Club stood out with a score of gross 77. Omar enjoys an edge over his nearest rival Yashal Shah by a margin of one stroke.

In the Under -18 category, Damil Ataullah (Garrison) put up the best show with a score of gross 74. Another talented young golfer Mikayl Majid of Defence Raya Golf Club is placed one stroke behind him at gross 75 followed up by Nadir Ahmed Khan of Karachi Golf Club with gross 79.

The second round will tee off at 8.30am on Saturday.
