CHINIOT: Police arrested a shopkeeper who raped a seven-year-old girl of Chak 15 JB on Sunday.

The girl went to a shop at the village and the suspect forcibly took her to field and raped here. Her father came searching for her there and the suspect fled.

The girl was brought to the THQ hospital of Lalian and police registered a case after getting medico-legal certificate. Later, police arrested the shopkeeper who confessed to committing the crime.

RAIDS: Assistant Commissioner Ghazala Kanwal on Sunday inspected many marriage halls in the city and checked SOPs.

She directed the marriage halls owners to arrange functions in lawns and restrict maximum participation to 300 guests. She warned of strict action including fines, sealing of premises and FIRs against violators.

She imposed Rs20,000 fine on another marriage hall on Jhang Road.
