ISLAMABAD: Two persons were murdered in the capital while the body of a man was found hanging from a tree.

According to police, a woman was murdered allegedly by her husband over a domestic issue.

Inspector Munir Ahmed told Dawn that the victim was a housemaid and mother of two teenage girls while the suspect is a driver and reportedly a drug addict.

Mr Ahmed said during an argument the suspect stabbed the woman and escaped, adding he would often beat his wife and daughters.

Furthermore, the watchman of a plaza, identified as Sayed Akbar, 30, was shot dead by an unidentified motorcycle rider. The victim belonged to Swabi.

Mr Ahmed said an investigation was underway and the motive behind the murder was yet to be established.

Separately, the body of a 22-year-old man was found hanging from a tree near a housing society at Koral.

The deceased was a resident of Banigala.

The body was spotted by a passerby who informed police, Mr Ahmed said, adding it seems like a suicide.
