PESHAWAR: Senior lawyer Khwaja Mohammad Khan Gara died here on Monday after protracted illness.

He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Gara Tajik area.

The funeral prayer was attended by the people, especially lawyers, in large numbers.

The deceased remained the president of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association on multiple occasions. He also served as the election commissioner of the association and held election several times.

Khwaja Mohammad Gara was well versed in criminal jurisprudence and was known for pleading criminal cases in the province and Supreme Court.

The deceased was father of lawyer Jalaluddin Akbar Azam Khan Gara.
