QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against Superintending Engineer of Communication & Works Department Noor Mohammad Lehri and one Malik Naveed Kasi on charges of illegally accumulating assets worth Rs250 million.

The illegal assets include a bungalow and six flats in Quetta and another bungalow worth millions of rupees in the Defence Housing Authority, Karachi.

The NAB Balochistan officials said that during investigation it was revealed that suspicious transactions of Rs132m were made from bank accounts created in the names of accused and anonymous persons.

The accused filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court but BHC Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail rejected it and directed NAB to complete the investigation within 20 days and file a reference in an accountability court.
