KARAK: A government postgraduate college and a girls’ degree college were closed for five days here on Tuesday after seven students tested positive for coronavirus.

Students’ affair in-charge of the Government Postgraduate College, Karak, Prof Naimatullah Khattak confirmed the college’s closure after five students tested positive for the virus. He said two students of the Government Girls’ Degree College, Karak, had also contracted the infection.

He said the decision to close the colleges was taken to fulfill the government’s protocol and prevent the spread of coronavirus in the educational institutions.

The health department teams had conducted random tests of teachers and students in the two colleges a day ago. The test results of five students of the postgraduate college and two of the girls college were declared positive.
