OKARA: Five members of a family were buried alive while another suffered injuries when the roof of an under-construction room collapsed at village 60/4L (Adda Gamber) here on Monday.

Rescue 1122 said a family was asleep in an under-construction house when its roof collapsed on Sunday night. As a result, 25-year-old Perveen, her five-day-old baby, son Shakeel (4), relatives Adeel (4), Emaan Fatima (3) and Siddiqua (2) were trapped under the rubble. They were shifted to DHQ Hospital where except minor Shakeel, others were pronounced dead.

CASE FILED: On the orders of Dipalpur additional district and sessions judge, police have registered a theft case six months after the incident took place.

As per first information report, during the last week of April 2020, four suspects Waqas, Jalil, Akhtar and Maratab Ali entered the house of Muhammad Ashiq at Imam Barri Chunian Road near Hujra Shah Muqeem and made off with valuables.
