ISLAMABAD: The Sadder circle police thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to down parts of the country and arrested three suspects with a cache of drugs, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

He said the Tarnol police nabbed two suspected drug pushers, including a woman, from Chungi No 26 and recovered 1.2 kg heroin and 550 gram hashish from their possession.

The suspects confessed to smuggling the drugs from KP to Islamabad and various cities of Punjab.

Furthermore, Golra police rounded up a man after recovering 1.1 kg hashish from him.

Cases have been registered against these persons and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Tarnol police nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 2.7 kilogram hashish from him. Koral police arrested accused and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.

Shalimar police arrested a person and recovered fake documents of car from him.

Sabzi Mandi police arrested an Afghan national residing illegally in country.
