KARACHI: Nine horses are in line to face the starter during the Hash Tag Cup, which features prominently in a five-card drawn for the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The races have been brought forward by a day in view of the Pakistan Democratic Movement meeting in the city on Sunday.

The cup event, which has been classified under scale order IV and V, is the fourth race in the order and will go over four-and-a-half furlongs. It is the supporting event.

The next race which is also the day’s feature event — scale order II and III — has five horses in fray and will also be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The first three races of lower classification will be run over four furlongs.

All in all, 34 horses have entered the races and will vie for honours barring last-minute withdrawal(s).

The first race starts at 2.45pm.
