SHEIKHUPURA: Four devotees (malangs), including a woman, were allegedly killed by their two fellow devotees at Baba Bodi Shah’s shrine here on Tuesday.

According to police, a group of six devotees was drinking bhang (a traditional intoxicating drink made from leaves and buds of cannabis plant) at the shrine, when two of them allegedly got ‘high’ and attacked the others with iron rods, causing them critical head injuries.

As a result, the four devotees, including a woman, identified as Shan (70), Din Mohammad (60), Saieen Akhtar (45) and Mai Razia, fell unconscious.

Later, the attackers – Nasir and Qurban – threw the unconscious men and the woman into a nearby nullah that was full of water. The injured devotees got drowned in the nullah.

The suspects fled the scene.

On being informed of the incident, a Rescue 1122 team reached the nullah and retrieved the four dead bodies, and shifted those to the local morgue.

Bhekhi police have registered a case against the two suspects and started investigation.
