KARACHI: Measures for LB polls reviewed

KARACHI, Sept 24: A high-level meeting chaired by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar here on Saturday reviewed arrangements for holding the third phase of local government election in Sindh scheduled to be held on October 6.

Justice Dogar was briefed on the arrangements made for ensuring free, fair and impartial election in the province. He directed that officials concerned to make sure that the entire machinery of the provincial government was more vigilant than it was in the previous phases keeping in view the importance of the third phase.

EC Secretary K. M. Dilshad told the meeting that national and international media had appreciated the arrangements made by the Commission.

Among those who attended the meeting were Member EC Justice Mohammad Sadiq Leghari of the Sindh High Court and Sindh Election Commissioner Ahmed Ali Halepota.—PPI
