I WISH to draw the kind attention of Prime Minister Imran Khan to many of his speeches in which he inadvertently uses the words ‘my government’, which does not suit a statesman. After taking the oath of his office he became the prime minister of Pakistan and should say ‘our government’ or ‘your government’ in his speeches and addresses to the nation.
The word ‘our’ has warmth and also sounds better compared to the word ‘my’. The word ‘my’ is self-centred whereas ‘our’ gives an impression that the prime minister is taking the masses along.
I sincerely hope the prime minister will show magnanimity by using the word ‘our’ or ‘your’.
