FAISALABAD: The Sargodha Road police on Wednesday registered a case against a woman who killed her husband with the help of a man she is alleged to have an affair with.

Police said Rana Muzamil was found dead at his home in Gulistan Colony and his wife Tania Bibi claimed that robbers had killed him by locking her inside the kitchen. They said police launched an investigation into the issue and found the statements of Tania contradictory.

The women, police said, confessed to killing her husband with the help of Arsalan Shahzad. A murder case has been registered on the complaint of Basharat Hussain, cousin of the deceased.

LAWYERS’ STRIKE: Lawyers of Jaranwala courts went on strike on Wednesday following firing near the judicial complex in which an accused was killed and a lawyer suffered injuries.

The attackers fled the scene despite the presence of the police.

Reports said armed men opened fire when murder accused Imran Arshad was on way along with his lawyer Abdul Jabbar to court in connection with his case proceedings when armed men opened fire on them. Arshad breathed his last at the Allied Hospital and Jabbar was shifted to the THQ hospital of Jaranwala where his condition was said to be stable.

The deceased was booked in the murder case registered with the Khurrianwala police about six years ago.

The lawyers criticised the police officers for not ensuring the security measures at the judicial complex despite repeated requests.
