TOBA TEK SINGH: Five members of a family, including a woman, died while a child was injured seriously when the car they were traveling by collided with a trailer on M-4 Motorway near Gojra on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 officials said a speeding car carrying six members of family of Layyah rammed into the rear end of a trailer on M-4 Motorway.

As a result, five of the family members died instantly. They were identified as Eissa Khan (65), his sons Imran (35) and Irfan (25), his cousin Yaqoob (50) and his (Yaqoob’s) wife Zainab Bibi.

In the accident, Imran’s son Muhammad Ali was criticality wounded. He was rushed to Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, from where doctors referred him to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

The officials said the family had gone to Lahore airport to see off Imran, who had to fly to Libya where he worked. However, his flight was postponed for four days and the family was returning to Layyah when their car met an accident.

They said the collision was so severe that bodies of the deceased were retrieved by cutting the car’s frame.

HONOUR: A girl student of the Police Welfare School campus of a private school chain stood first in the Toba district by securing 1,081 out of 1100 marks in the matriculation examination.

As per district police press release issued here on Sunday, the topper, Aima Murtaza, is the daughter of an assistant sub inspector (ASI).
