ISLAMABAD: Two members of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) belonging to business community have assured cooperation of their community for promoting sports in the country.

Recently, the federal government made businessmen Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and Shafique Abbasi from business community part of the PSB. They called on Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr Fehmida Mirza and assured their full support for sports promotion.

According to a statement issued by the PSB on Wednesday, both the businessmen also discussed the revival of sports culture at local level with the support of provinces and national sports federations.

“The meeting also discussed in detail the public-private partnership for infrastructure development and up-gradation of coaching centres and sports complexes in the provinces,” read the PSB statement.

Dr Fehmida appreciated the efforts of business community and their support to the government in difficult times and their generous distributions for the national cause, added the PSB statement. She also hoped that the business community would play vital role in the revival of sports in the country.
