False promises

Published September 9, 2020

IMRAN Khan and his team have done nothing so far except make false promises and commitments. Before coming to power, the PTI claimed it would not only provide 10 million jobs to the citizens, there would be so many job opportunities that people from other countries would visit Pakistan to seek employment.

Unfortunately, our prime minister has failed to fulfil his promises.

According to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, the last two years have witnessed massive migration to other countries. Who would stay in a country where there is such high unemployment ratio, no investment and corruption?

This brain drain from Pakistan is resulting in our young talent moving to the US, Australia, Canada and other countries in search of greener pastures. Pakistan’s prosperity will always remain a distant dream until our engineers, doctors, IT experts and scientists are given jobs in our own country.

I urge the government to take immediate steps to stop brain drain.
