RAWALPINDI, Sept 20: Australia ‘A’ opener Michael Hussey struck an unbeaten century as the tourists made merry in the drawn second Test against Pakistan ‘A’ at KRL Stadium on Tuesday. Pakistan ‘A’ triumphed 1-0 in the two-match series after recording a seven-wicket victory in the first four-day fixture at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium last week.

On a listless last day, the left-hand opening pair of Hussey (101) and Marcus North (68) took Australia ‘A’ to 181 without loss in the second innings after the home team had been dismissed for 348 in reply to the touring side’s first-innings score of 407 for eight declared.

Hussey stroked 12 fours and one six during his 159-ball knock while North slammed six fours and one six and faced 135 deliveries.

Earlier, Mansoor Amjad, the leg-spinning all-rounder, made 82 after Pakistan ‘A’ started the day at 249 for six. Mansoor, who negotiated 168 balls, belted 10 boundaries and one six.

North, who bowls occasional off-breaks, captured the last two wickets off the three balls he bowled to terminate Pakistan innings, some 45 minutes after lunch interval.

Hasan Raza added just five runs to his overnight score of 111.

The teams now travel to Lahore to feature in a three-match one-day series.
