KARACHI, Sept 20: Over a dozen ships carrying sugar, palm oil and DAP fertlizer are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where five ships, Johar, to unload crude oil, Mastery to offload chemicals, Hyderabad to unload and load general cargo, Hanjin Busan, and Maersk Alaska, to offload and load containers.

Six vessels, Iran Shahryar, Asian Trader, Maersk Arizona, Itha Bhum, European Highway, Frieda Selmer, while Antoine, Sutra Tiga, Mastery, Johar, Sea Brilliance and Norwave are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side, rising to 0.134m tons comprising 15,712 tons of export cargo including 2,897 tons of rice and 0.118m tons of import.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Great Calm, with 38,600 tons of sugar, Celtic Terrier, with 12,500 tons of palm oil, Lalazar, with 67,000 tons of crude oil, Hyundai Highway, Kota Teguh, YM Sund, Elbe Oldendroff, Dong He, with containers, Makra, with 42,229 tons of DAP fertilizer, Pretty Flourish and Angela, with 40,085 and 44,022 tons of coal and Glorious Sun, with steel coils.
