OKARA: Three men were killed and as many injured in separate road accidents in the district.

An oil tanker hit a motorcycle at station stop on GT Road, killing motorcyclist Ansar, a resident of village 30/GD, on the spot. City B Division police claimed to have arrested the driver of the tanker and impounded the vehicle.

Separately, a youth, Habib, of village 24/GD was sitting on the edge of a tractor next to the driver. When the driver applied brakes to avoid a buffalo that appeared in front of the vehicle, Habib fell off and was run over by the tractor.

In yet another incident, a car was hit by a tractor trolley on GT Road, killing the car driver, identified as Abdur Rashid of Arifwala, on the spot. Three other passengers in the car were shifted to DHQ hospital by Rescue 1122 with multiple injuries.

BOOK: A new book of hamd and naat, Shakh-i-Sana Pe Mehke Phool, by poet Prof Razaullah Haider has been appreciated in the literary circles.

The writer has four books to his credit, including Ghalib and Moasir Ulema, Zakhm Huay Gulab, Madina Yaad Ata Hai, while his book, Zia-e-Harmain, earned him the National Seerat Award in 2018 by the government.

The writer and poet is head of the Urdu department at Okata Postgraduate College.
