GWADAR: A soldier of the paramilitary Levies Force lost his life in an attack by gunmen in Kech district of Makran division on Wednesday.

Security officials said the attack took place in the Nanao-Dashtk area of Kech town when armed motorcyclists opened fire on Younus Hussain, killing him on the spot.

“Younus Hussain suffered multiple bullet injuries and embraced martyrdom,” a senior Levies Force official said. The gunmen escaped after the incident.

The body of the soldier was taken to a nearby hospital and later handed over to family members.

Levies Force personnel launched a search operation in the area to arrest the attackers, but no arrest was made till late in the night.
